Course Overview

Our IGCSE English Writing Core course equips students with essential skills to master all key writing formats, from analytical commentaries to creative narratives. Our Teachers

Kieran McMahon

Kieran obtained a BSc in Mathematics from Newcastle University and was certified as an IT Trainer in the UK, an experience that significantly influenced the development of his teaching and training methods. Following several years in predominantly technical job roles, he transitioned his career to teaching children upon relocating to Hong Kong. This transition brought him great enjoyment and revealed a deep passion for education, as he takes pride in guiding students toward realizing their full potential.

Alice E. McKay

Alice is a dynamic and inspiring educator who tailors her teaching to ignite creativity and confidence in every student. She fosters independent thinking and self-expression by guiding students through interactive drama exercises, thought-provoking discussions, and collaborative projects. Alice is a distinguished professional with a Licentiate Teaching Diploma in Speech & Drama from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and a Certificate in Education from the University of Brighton.

Jay Khilnani

Jay adapts to his students’ needs and his teaching style is engaging, and interactive. He uses real-world analogies and examples to help reinforce concepts and ideas which are new to his students. Jay graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the City University of New York, Magna Cum Laude honors. Upon relocating to Hong Kong, Jay provided tutoring services to students from DGS, St. Clare’s Girls’ School, and Ying Wa Girls’ School to prepare them for the DSE English examination during the initial years of its introduction.
