Owen holds a BASc in Applied AI from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), completed between 2020 and 2024. During his studies, he was recognized as a Future Leader of the Year Scholarship recipient and an HKUWW Exchange Scholar. He also enriched his expertise through a semester exchange at the University of Iceland in 2023, where he explored High Performance Computing and AI Lifecycle applications. 

With a robust career spanning multiple leadership and technical roles, Owen brings a wealth of experience to his teaching. His AI expertise includes, but not limited to: 

• Pioneered an AI-powered application tailored to GenZ lifestyle trends 

• Leads AI-driven investment research and develops quantitative tools for stock analysis. 

• Designs and delivers corporate training on AI Workflow Automation for private banks and institutions. 

• Created tools for broker tracing, fund-flow analysis, and algo-trading using Large Language Models (LLM). 

Owen’s teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to think critically and innovate fearlessly. His extensive industry experience—spanning AI system engineering, fintech, and academic research—enables him to connect theoretical concepts to real-world challenges. He has delivered specialized AI and fintech courses for MBA, MMKT, and MMGT programs at institutions like HK PolyU, Macau PolyU, and 廣州華商學院, as well as seminars for HKETA and HKSA. 

Owen’s diverse background includes collaborations with global tech firms, Icelandic government researchers, and Hong Kong’s financial sector, giving him a unique ability to adapt his teaching to students from varied disciplines. His achievements, such as winning the 2024 Overlook IGEF Value Investment Proposal Competition and placing in the Algogene Algo Trading Challenge, reflect his commitment to excellence and practical problem-solving. 

Outside of his professional pursuits, Owen enjoys exploring advancements in machine learning, contributing to open-source AI projects, and unwinding with strategy games. His passion for AI was sparked during his university years, where he saw its potential to transform industries and improve lives.
